Information on Doctor Who
As a small child I remember looking forward to tea time every Saturday afternoon when Dr. Who used to be show on our TV screens, even in those days when the shows were shown in black & white you still used to hide behind the settee when Doctor Whos famous enemies the Daleks (often spelt as the Darleks) used to come onto the TV or even the Cybermen with their suits made of metal used to scare you to. Dr. Who first started out on the BBC way back in 1963 to 1989 then brought back to our screens in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper. The Doctor is the last of the Time Lords from the planet Gallifrey who roams the galaxy in his TARDIS time machine and has many adventures battling alien races along the way. To get around the fact that after playing the doctor for a few years many of the actors want to move on so the BBC brought in the idea that the Dr. can regenerate into another body therefore letting another actor play the famous role. So far there has been 10 actors playing the part of Dr. Who starting with William Hartnell then Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, "in my view the worst Doctor" Paul McGann, "in a one off film" Christopher Eccleston, and last but not least David Tennant who has turned out to be the best doctor yet
